On the Easel

Brad is putting the last strokes on the paintings for his new solo exhibit, Capital Light, opening on Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Zenith Gallery in Washington, D.C.

In this series, Brad honors his adopted hometown of Washington D.C., where he first came as a student at George Washington University, and worked and lived for decades. His paintings capture moments of everyday life in some of D.C.’s most treasured spots. As always, it’s the light in the landscape or cityscape that is the source of inspiration for Brad, and D.C. has a particular quality of light. Unlike many of the world’s great capitals, D.C. isn’t dwarfed by skyscrapers, blocking sunlight to the web of life below. The result is a city beautifully illumined in all seasons.
