A considerable part of Bradley Stevens' work is produced on commission. When a client commissions a painting -- whether portrait, landscape or cityscape -- it provides a unique opportunity to interact with the artist, contribute to the creative process, and watch an idea develop into an enduring work of art. With over thirty years of experience, Bradley Stevens is accustomed to working on commission. His extensive roster of clients ranges from individuals to corporations and the White House. Stevens enjoys collaborating with his clients, values their input, and is sensitive to their expectations. His paintings capture and immortalize what is meaningful in people's lives: a moment in time for a family on a beach; a professional honored for outstanding achievement; a breathtaking landscape from the vacation of a lifetime; or an expansive cityscape welcoming visitors to an office. The commission process, like all creative endeavors, begins with an idea. Sometimes a client has an idea in mind; other times, the artist and client explore ideas together. Stevens expands on these ideas with a series of sketches and preliminary drawings, building a framework for the painting. Next, he refines the elements of the composition in an oil sketch. In time, he puts paint to canvas, and art interprets life.
